The recycling station in West Union has grown to the point where Adams Brown Recycling has added a second compactor. The location is in front of the Adams County Engineer’s Garage on state Route 41 in West Union.

Prochniak looks for more interest income

New Brown County Auditor/Treasurer Jean Prochniak told Brown County commissioners last week that she’s in search of more interest income and has been busy working to improve the County’s investment policy. “In 2014, Brown County generated $290,092.03 in interest income.

MLSD receives Creating Healthy Communities grant

Manchester Local School District has been awarded 2015-2019 Creating Healthy Communities funding from the Ohio Department of Health totalling $80,000 per year. Typically a county’s Health Department applies for the grant; however, because the grant requires the organization to spend money then be reimbursed for it later, Adams County Health Department could not serve as the fiscal agent.
