Cincinnati officer shoots man; Toledo officer appears asleep on duty; Cincinnati police…

This picture provided to WTVG-TV in Toledo appears to show Toledo police officer Adam Kesselmayer sleeping in his cruiser. The Cincinnati police sergeant who fired his weapon at a suspect Thursday acted within department policy, according to interim chief Eliot Isaac.

Southern Ohio county jail closes because of lock problems

Brown County officials on Thursday decided to empty the jail, sending inmates some 60 miles to Butler County’s jail. The police union had filed a grievance citing an unsafe work environment because of malfunctioning cell door locks.

Morehead State University has implemented several improvements to its institutional scholarship program, increasing opportunities for in-state, out-of-state and transfer students. MSU’s Non-Resident Merit Scholarship now operates on a three-tier system, providing more students, both first-time freshmen and transfers, opportunities to receive financial aid.

Georgetown Man Dead in Brown County Crash

The State Highway Patrol reports Derek L. Lunsford, 27, was traveling southbound though Lewis Township around 4:00 p.m. Friday when his vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway and crashed into a tree. Mr. Lunsford was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Brown County Coroner’s Office.

Documents reveal suspect, motive in Brittany Stykes’ murder

Stykes, who was 17 weeks pregnant, was found shot to death behind the wheel of her Jeep along Ohio 68 in Brown County. Her daughter also was shot.
