Alcohol and/or drugs are factors in a Brown County crash that killed a 41-year-old woman and sent five other people to the hospital Wednesday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Troopers responded to the collision on U.S. 68 in Pleasant Township just before 7:30 p.m., the patrol said in a news release.

1 killed in 2 vehicle Brown County crash

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on U.S. 28 in Scott Township that occurred on Monday. According to police, a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier being driven by 67-year-old Jerry Townley of Milford traveled left of center and struck a southbound 2002 Harley Davidson being driven by 47-year-old Franklin Connor of Ripley.

Lack of shine a ‘disappointment’ for Brown County Courthouse dome

The newly renovated copper dome at the Brown County Courthouse has lost its shine, just 6 months after its renovation. Back in November, the county had a 'lighting up' celebration, highlighting the $1.6 million project, but now they are trying to figure out why the copper shine didn't last.

NWS: Storm damage survey may be needed in Brown County

Did a tornado or straight-line winds strike part of Brown County when strong thunderstorms swept through Monday night, prompting a tornado warning? Meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Wilmington said early Tuesday they received reports overnight that trees and large limbs were down and there was also debris two miles northeast of Mount Orab. They said they may send a crew to the area later Tuesday to conduct a damage survey so they can determine if a tornado or straight-line winds are behind it.

Tornadoes in Ohio had maximum wind speeds of 90-95 mph

Tornadoes that struck Brown and Clermont counties just after midnight Saturday packed maximum wind speeds of 90-95 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The tornado that touched down northeast of Hamersville, in Brown County, had a maximum width of about 300 yards and traveled 4.9 miles.
